Exercise Ball Workout

Exercising ball workout means exercising with a ball made up of an inflatable material. When inflated, the ball looks like an over sized ball. Exercise ball workout has gained popularity these days. They are increasingly popular and used as major exercising equipments in the fitness centers.

Exercisers use this ball, to exercise the core muscles of the abdomen, back and the chest. There are many exercise programs, which recommend the use of exercise ball workout.

Most of these exercises are highly developed. It is therefore suggested that people who have earlier experience with ball or weightlifting exercise, use ball workout.

Physicians recommend exercise ball workout for disabled persons. This is because they find it difficult to workout either by sitting or lying down on the floor. With the increasing popularity of this ball workout, among these patients, fitness experts began recommending them for normal people as well. If you are a beginner then it is suggested that you use a lightweight ball for workout.

Exercise ball workout can be done in many ways. Some of them are:

  • One- legged dead lift
  • Chest fleys with leg raise
  • Hamstring rolls
  • Seated lateral raise with hip flexion
  • Oblique lift
  • Pushups
  • Squat with leg extension
  • One-legged lunge
  • Bent over rows on one leg

Before embarking on exercise ball workout some factors should be kept in mind. Use the best quality balls available. Cheap ball have been found to burst suddenly during the workout. The ball should never be over inflated. Do not overdo the exercise if you are a beginner. It may feel very simple initially, but you must restrain yourself. Once you start doing exercise ball workouts, you can exercise your own pace with advice from the instructor.
